February brings many fun activities and new books to the library.  We are very thankful for our Friends of the Library and the money they raise during the book sales to help with much needed funding for programs and new books.  Make sure to stop in and buy a book or two!

Winter Used Book Sale - February 12-17

Cedarburg Friends of the Library will be having their wonderful Used Book Sale this month, in the run-up to Winter Festival. Come in out of the cold and browse our boxes and shelves for your next great read! Buy a book for a really great price and find a cozy corner in the library or a Cedarburg café to enjoy some well-deserved reading time!

Local Mequon mom and author, Deb Mueller, will be doing an Author Talk and book signing for her new book, Love Hard.

This powerful memoir chronicles a mother's resilient journey through the roller coaster of loving and parenting a child with mental health issues.

Yoga and Chinese Medicine Workshop

Join Akalai Hanui to learn about the body's meridian lines, and how to target them using yoga asana and acupressure. Find out what are meridian lines, what can happen when Qi energy becomes stuck, and how to move stagnant energy in this practical workshop. Please bring a yoga mat!

StoryCorps Evening

Open House

We are hosting a February evening open house to introduce StoryCorps: Cedarburg Stories, an oral history collection project. The idea is to preserve community stories by recording meaningful conversations of Cedarburg inhabitants about memories, stories, and local history. Your story can be archived and/or shared with your friends and family. Find out what this involves by dropping by on Feb. 13.

Monarch Memory Café

The Monarch Library Memory Café will be in Cedarburg this month. This is a place where people with Mild Cognitive Impairment, early-stage Alzheimers, or a related dementia can join in with their care partners to socialize and have fun with other people on a similar journey. Mother Earth is Calling

A nonpartisan informational panel discussion with Q&A on environmentally-friendly gardening and water use. Our esteemed speakers include Professor Glenn Herold, Horticulturist, and Cheryl Nenn, Riverkeepers.

This event is organized and hosted by the League of Women Voters of Ozaukee and Washington Counties Youth Vote Group.

The Leap Year Challenge: Reframing February with Catherine Thomas

We are experiencing a pervasive epidemic without a vaccine: loneliness. While February traditionally focuses on romantic love, alternate ways to achieve meaningful connection will be explored, allowing EVERYONE to benefit.

· how connection can be experienced by everyone through nature/impromptu encounters/awareness of self.

Join Miss Heidi for 9 weeks of Preschool storytime. This program is intended for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers. Enjoy this fun program with short stories, action rhymes, flannel stories, music, plus an activity to take home.
