Welcome to May at the Library!
May is full of new opportunities at your library! There’s something for everyone this month - from exciting events for all ages to fresh book recommendations perfect for spring and summer reading (scroll to the end of the email for these!). 
 
Please note the following Library Closing Dates in May:
  • Sunday, May 11 (for Mother's Day)
  • Friday, May 16, morning only (for staff in-service)
  • Sundays, beginning Memorial weekend through Labor Day weekend 
The Library's Summer Reading Program will begin June 1st - stay tuned for details!

Happy Mother's Day!
This Mother’s Day, honor your mom or grandma, with a dedicated library book!
 
  • Choose a book from our Fill the Shelves card catalog
  • Fill out the form with who you want to honor
  • With your donation, we buy the book and make a bookplate to honor your special person
  • Find your book in the library and check it out!
Cedarburg Spirits Day: May 8
Door prizes galore! The debut of Love Story Cocktails (Romeo & Juliet themed)! A pop-up Little Library! Bottle & Gift Kit Sales! And a 10% Discount on 4+ bottles!
 
One of our favorite FUNdraisers from the Cedarburg Friends of the Library returns on May 8 at Handen Distillery in Cedarburg. Thank you Handen Distillery for hosting this event. Come join in the fun!

This month, we’ll explore BRICS+—a growing coalition of nations challenging the post-WWII international order. As Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa expand their ranks and global influence, we’ll dive into what drives this alliance, who the new members and “partner” countries are, and why it all matters for the U.S. and the world.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, making it the ideal time for a ‘mindset makeover.’ Thiensville Therapist, Jeanette Baas, talks to Catherine Thomas, host of the Compassionate Conversation series, and will offer tips and advice on what we can do daily to enjoy optimal emotional ease.

Take a seat in our community room to watch a Cinema Classic movie. Come and go as you please. The library will be screening these on the white screen for anyone who wants to enjoy. Starts at 1pm.

Dementia Friends Information Session & Community Resource Fair
Presented by the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Ozaukee County: A free community event to learn supports and advice for people living with dementia or caregiving for someone with this need. Registration required.

PJs & Popcorn
Join us at the Library for a cozy night of reading, popcorn and fun with the Cedarburg Junior Women's Club! Kids are invited to wear their PJs and enjoy some great stories while snacking on popcorn. We will also be collecting new or gently used pajamas for Family Sharing. It’s a wonderful way to give back to the community while enjoying a fun, relaxing evening!
